Instructor – Jim Bilotta CAT(C), M.Ed, Dip SIM, B.PhEd
Jim Bilotta is an Athletic Therapist at Brock University where he has been employed for the past 18 years. Jim also teaches part time for the Brock University Department of Kinesiology.
Certifications and Career Highlights:
- Certified member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association – 1992
- Diploma in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine - 1997.
- Canadian Medical Team for international games:
- Pan American Games in Argentina
- Para Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia
- World University Games in both Japan and Sicily
Over the past five years Jim has taught STR workshops throughout Canada to a variety of health care professionals including Athletic Therapists, Physiotherapists, Registered Massage Therapists, students of these professions, and other health care professionals.
Jim was first introduced to soft tissue release by Stuart Taws, who developed the first STR workshop in the mid 1980’s, and has assisted Stuart Taws in STR workshops held at Brock University.
Jim has completed a Masters degree in Education, specializing in adult learning and developed this Soft Tissue Release workshop and manual as part of his graduate work. Jim utilizes many adult learning principles in his workshops to help participants
understand the soft tissue release principles and techniques. |
